Polisher Backing Pads

Soft EVA backing pad, for use with
hook & loop (velcro) pads. The pad incorporates a 10mm foam layer which
greatly assists in a perfect polishing result.

M14 x 2 or 5/8"-11 thread

Glass Technics PU backer pad has a very important foam interface between the polisher and your workpiece. The moulded PU pad's foam will dampen vibrations to prevent the polisher from bouncing, yet is flexible and tough enough to withstand the rigorous operation of any polisher/grinder. A permanent bond between the PU and other components of the pad eliminates separation problems.

The embossed hook facing is molded with the PU material , it creates a permanent durable and flat surface. It offers quick and easy removal of other accessories.

Our PU backing pads offer strict tolerance on weight, balance, roundness, and flatness. A pad that is not the correct weight, out of round, out of balance, or not flat causes vibrations which fatigue the user and prevent creating a professional finish. Strict tolerances in the PU assure you that each pad performs consistently for a long time. A quality pad has a controlled weight and balance that allows the tool to operate with minimum vibration.

Convex Backer Pad
The dome shape of the backer pad is ideally suited for use with abrasive pads used for deep scratch removal. Abrasive pads can cause distortion, therefore a feathering process is needed. These pads hugely assist with this. Also ideally suited for polishing the inside of cylindrical shaped items

Convex Velco Backer Pad
This pad is a variant of the above pad but instead of screwing directly onto the polishing machine it has a Velcro layered base so can be used on any flat surfaced backing pad

Concave Backing Pad
Being slightly concave, this backing pad used in conjunction with flexible polishing pads hugely assists in polishing compound retention

Adaptors

We can supply adaptors to convert various spindle sizes (male or female) to fit our backing pads. eg 3/8 and 5/16 to MI4
or straight shaft.
